The Biodiversity of
Rock Creek Golf Course
This visualization of biodiversity in and around the golf course was produced from more than 36,000 records (photos, sounds, observations) collected between 2019 and 2024 by individuals who invest their efforts into observing and reporting life in this particular ecosystem. These records are maintained in perpetuity by the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) to enable a better understanding of changes to biodiversity. The 36,000 records are grouped according to the Linnean taxonomy of Kingdom (inner most circle), Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, and Species (outer most circle).
